about-img

I am an Emergency Veterinarian.

Originally from sunny South Florida, I was enchanted by Arizona’s cacti and endless adventures while studying at Midwestern University in Phoenix. After graduation, I dove into an exhilarating emergency and critical care mentorship in beautiful Colorado, before returning back to the dry heat. Now, I’m thrilled to be a full-time ER doctor at VetMED Emergency and Specialty Hospital, where I enjoy traumatic stabilization, laceration repairs, and coagulopathies. Beyond the in-person clinic, I’m passionate about extending care through telemedicine consults nationwide, bringing relief and support to pet parents everywhere. As a veterinarian, I’m living my dream, but I also seize every opportunity for adventure. Whether I’m mountain biking with my husband, Alex, or exploring trails with our rescue pit bulls, Knightro and Lilly, I’m always seeking new experiences. Looking ahead, I’m excited to hit the road in our RV, providing relief work across the US while embracing the freedom of travel.

Testimonials

Paws and Applause

Why did I not know about this before. I could save so much money, time and effort. And No trauma in transporting my pets. It is absolutely the best service for common pets issues. The vet is awesome, caring, taking her time to listen. Thank you!

Roni

She not only treated our frenchie for a UTI but gave other things to consider, including testing at our family vet.

Beth

My visit with Dr.Hough was amazing today. She was able to put herself in the shoes of my dog which really made me feel as though my dog was in good hands!! Thank you for the advise and really hearing out my doggy’s issues!!

Cassidy

This is the first time I’ve felt like a vet really listened to me. She explained in detail and related it in a way to make it all super easy to understand. I learned a lot more in 20 mins than I ever did in person. I’m happy I tried vetster and more so got to schedule with Dr. Hough.

Ashley

Didn’t feel rushed and asked many times if I had questions. Everything was answered to the fullest. Even sending me information for a specialist. Also very personal and down to earth. Very happy with my experience!

Emilee

We have a very difficult cat and this was a breeze to get her treatment for an issue without the drama and stress of taking her into a physical practice. Thank you Dr. Veronica!

Jessica

She relieved my fears at midnight. The script will be here tomorrow. Very thankful this exists.

Maria

I felt like I could be open and honest especially her having a familiar background with the dogs and the same kind of issues. I didn’t feel like I was being judged at any moment, I felt like I was finally being heard and also corrected on my end for things I may have looked over! Such a great doctor!!! One of the best

Khadija

I was very happy to meet Dr. Hough. Although telehealth has its limits, she was able to see my kitten and reassured me that his breathing was OK, and he looked healthy and not in distress and gave me the confidence to continue monitoring worthwhile visit.

Brett

Dr.Hough was very easy to talk to, clearly understood what was going on with my dog, and gave me clear instructions of what to do next, and when I should see a neighborhood Vet. Great experience.

Carla

I felt very comfortable with Dr. V. We did a video chat and she allowed me time to show her my baby’s issue with her eyes. She could see what I was talking about and giving her the best info even if you don’t think it has anything to do with the problem at hand. She told me what to do for OTC meds. And order 2 meds for me which was the easiest thing I have done since b4 2020. Thank Dr V. For your wonderful professional help. We need more people like you who loves animals.

Mary

I was feeling anxious about my cat’s urinary issues, especially considering we’ve just moved to a new city and haven’t established a primary vet yet. Dr. V took an appointment with short notice and gave me the sound advice I needed. I’m really pleased with my experience!

Angela

Dr. Hough is like a walking encyclopedia. I have never encountered a vet who takes the time to explain things so well. She is well versed in oncology/cancer, and she perfectly answered my lingering questions about my dog’s terminal cancer.

Daniel

Dr. Hough was friendly, informative and so helpful. She gave me useful resources for me to consult about my dog’s condition and suggested some directions to get more information and help. I really appreciate her dedication and passion for what she does, and I’d definitely connect with her again.
